Hi I have recently upgraded one of my PCs to Vista and now find that some of my favourite music programmes don't work under Vista and the suppliers "are working on a Vista version" The two I use most are Music Match Jukebox ( plays MP3/wave, converts MP3to wave and vv, records CDs, playlists etc) and Voyetra Record Producer Deluxe ( midi sequencer/player that also records CDs from midi/wave/vocal inputs to wave files) I have tried downloading some freeware/shareware equivalents but nothing very good there so far at all. Can anyone recommend some good equivalent Vista compliant software that does what MMJB and VRPDL do ? - doesn't have to be freeware or shareware - I don't mind buying a licensed software product if it is good regards Roy Setchfield Waiuku New Zealand

I Bought a Brand new Computer with vista.... which I like.... its gonna take a while before anything works...but .... have you tried running the software in compatibility mode? Right click on the installer and choose properties. there will be a tab called compatibility.... choose the tab and then choose XP. click apply and then ok. rerun the software... this worked for me... unfortunatly i couldn't find an antivirus that would work so i removed Vista... for Now.... ;D

Thanks Ironbaden I haven't tried that as both Music Match and Voyetra have advised me that their current software that I have is definitely not Vista compatible and that they are are working on a Vista version anyway I wil give it a try just in case - don't know how long they will take to release the new versions regards Roy Setchfield Waiuku, NZ

just read an article which says that vista does not support h.a.l direct sound, and so far only a few patches for only 1 or 2 soundcards have been produced.maybe our friend paul can explain what this hal does?
