Summer Holidays

OK, it's a bit early for this kind of a thread but as someone who has just booked his holidays for a 3 weeks camping trip around part of Europe, I was wondering if any other member has made plans yet for their summer break.

We land in Cherbourg in our camper on Monday the 9th of July and after we've acclimatised ourselves; experienced some local cuisine and rested, etc, we then make our way slowly to Liege in Belgium. We will stay there for a few days with some friends before heading off to Berlin in Germany.

After a couple of days exploring: I have desire to check out some of the areas most concerned with WW2, visiting the Wall and site of the Bunker, etc we then head off to Poznan in Poland where my good friend Lucky - the same Lucky from this very forum - will have to endure a mini invasion. Sorry if this is sounding reminiscent of 1939

A couple of days later it's off down to Paris for the longest part of our stay on main-land Europe, and where the kid's part of the holiday begins in earnest. The long drive down will give us plenty of time to brush up on the old French 8)

Disney land is on the agenda, along with a trip to Astrix Park. They also want to see the Eiffel Tower, Champs-Elysées, Notre Dame, etc. I have naturally seen them all before - I live in the city for 5 years back in the 80s but the kids have never had the opportunity as this will be their first time in Paris. They were in France a few times before, but only on day trips to Calais when we lived in London. That part of the holiday won't solely be for their benefit, though. We will also enjoy being back in a city I have loved since I was a lad. 8)

So what about you lot, then, anything planned yet?

Haven't arranged mine as yet, but I always do last minute.

Make sure you submit a post as soon as you get back, because I'd hate you to lose your AAA status. ;D ;D

Not all. No matter how hard you try you can never plan ever single detail so I'm sure there will be a few surprises in store.

I hadn't thought about that but I hope to be able to log on at some point during the break-away. If not, I just pray I have some pull with the Management ;D

I'm not afraid that kind of invasion . ;D
I know that it will very nice time for us both to known personally and for our children occasion to play together and see the most beautiful places in Poznan .

Hi Pat that sounds like a good trip for sure,hope the Sun is with u.I haven`y made any firm plans yet but i`m of to Malta in maybe 2/3 weeks to look for some gigs will stay there a week then home after that She Who Must Be Obeyed wants to go to Florida so i`ll be off there gonna stay a weel in Orlando just to melt the plastic then move round to St Pete`s beach on the gulf coast was there a few years back doing some concerts with a local church group and the craic was mighty so i`ll head back there after that it`ll be back to the grind here and make plans to retire lol lol

Nice one Lucky. There will only be 7 of us, Myself and my wife Michelle, and our five kids. Our oldest is Donna, who is 13. Then there's Sean, who is 11. Aaron in 8. Ivan is 2 and baby Leo is just 10 months old

Thanks you Lucky. Nice to know I will still be able to keep an eye on the forum from such a distance . But I will be leaving it in the very safe hands of Glenn and the lads. So no worries.

This is a good years for me as I get to meet fellow members of the forum for the first time face to face. You know I am meeting Lucky we we go to Poland in July, but I am also meeting Glenn in May when I will be in London for a convention. Then we, Glenn and I, and hopefully his wife and daughter, Leanne, will be going to see Jacquie perform her stuff at gig

Thank you weego. I wish you well on your trips. Sounds like you have a busy time ahead. I gigged in Miami once, this was in 1987. I can't remember the name of the pub but it was in Downtown Miami. I even have a video somewhere of me banging away on a guitar
