Hi Folks, Can someone recommend a laptop to take on gigs. This would not to be used for midi but for lyrics only, The reason being I have so many songs that I get asked for I would now like to transfer all that I have in books down to computer.I would also like to know of some software that would fill the screen with the lyrics...........Pete.

I use a laptop for all my lyrics, I just bought a cheap one for that purpose. I have found that if you put the lyrics into a word document, set it to landscape view, and then format into two columns, you get the whole song on screen.
Very basic, but hope this helps

Hey Shezza, When i converted everything on to my laptop i had about 1,000 songs on my repertoire, all my lyrics with chords above them were too many to type into word doc so i scanned them all in jpeg format, works for me.

Now you guys got me thinking !!! I was seriously thinking of getting a 15"LCD monitor and feeding my PSR 3000 to it, but that would be Karaoke and I'd need to input the lyrics to the Midis I have. Laborious !!! The laptop is a good idea and I think I'll take it back from my daughter who uses it for gaming. I'll need to make a sturdy stand for it, though, but I guess it'll be worth the effort as long as I dont have to lug my song books .
