Hi All, I'm sure that the many Irish members will appreciate this clip in answer to the eternal question, "What If The Beatles Were Irish?". www.youtube.com/watch?v=aFjH4ZqwOB4 Cheers, Dave.

Tubbs, Come on! You're stretching it a bit aren't you? Both lennon and McCartney were born in Liverpool. I even think their parents were actually Liverpudlian, it depends how far back you want to go. However,I did actually come across a quote some years ago by McCartney saying that "At one time, Liverpool used to be called the capital of Ireland." Anyway, I don't think I should argue with you too loudly, there's too many of you !!!
As an aside, I actually played Northern Ireland once, stayed in Banger on the coast and did interviews on Downtown radio. Is that still going I wonder? One of the best times ever, considering that we were all bothered about the troubles over there at the time. Stayed in digs and had this wondeful lady who looked after us. She was like a mother to all the group. Good memories. Still one of my ambitions is to get to Southern Ireland. Only 'cos I liked the Saw Doctors who sang about places like "Claire Island", "Tuam" and the "M 17...stone walls and the grass is green." One day. Cheers, Rossi

Glad you liked it lads, Just as a point of interest; I'm well aware of the "Liverpool as Capital of Ireland" tag (and have also heard it referred to as a "suburb of Dublin"). I was born in Liverpool and spent my early childhood there before immigrating to Australia. My dear old Mum still sounds as Scouse as the day we arrived. I love the idea that there are Irish acts actually doing Beatles songs like this! Comedy imitating life? Priceless!!! Cheers, Dave.

I laughed so hard on this one. I showed it to my wife, and she laughed, while I laughed all over again. Thanks for posting it.

That's an eeeeeeeeasy one! For me anyway living in Deutschland. Scouse is the old name of a stew made from the cheapest cuts of meat Lapskaus or Labskaus. Probably mutton or lamb. I think it's from either Scandinavia or Germany originally. So a Scouser is a poor person who lives on cheap meat stew. Am I right? JohnG.

Jaysus John, you'll start a bleedin' riot... we're not poor, we're oppressed by the ruling classes! lol Besides, we would've killed for a decent stew... "12 of us, livin' in shoe-box, in middle o' road, eatin' broken glass fer breakfast...." etc en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scouse

12 of you livin' in a shoe box, eatin' broken glass? Crikey you had it easy! There were 27 of us and all we had to live in was an empty box of Swans with gravel to eat twice a week if we were lucky! JohnG.
