Hello Fellow Members,
I have been a member for quite a while, but have been sitting in the background, observing (call it 'lurking, if you wish!) - before revealing myself .... Not a pretty sight !!! (Takes off dirty Raincoat !).
I have been a Pro and Semi-Pro Piano, then Organ, and latterly a Keyboard player. I use a Yamaha PSR 9000 Pro and a Tyros.
These Machines have boring monotonous 'styles' built in that I prefer not to use, and for each song in my repetoire, I create a 'Backing Midi', and play along with it. To date I have just over 6,000 backings. (All as 'finished' complete ,mids, and as backings with the leads removed).
Sadly all of these .mids are voiced with 'Panel voices' that are only compatible with later Yamaha Keyboards ('Live' voices, 'Super Articulated' voices and 'Mega' voices), and it would be pointless to upload these to the Forum. However, if any member uses Yamaha T1, T2, 9000, 9000 Pro, or 3000, would like to Email me with specific requests, I can probably help.
I am capable of converting GM or XG .mids to a format suitable for use in my keyboards in the onboard sequencer/arranger, but not the inverse.
'Thank you' to the Owner and Moderators of the Forum, for a well managed and sensible place for me to 'lurk' - However, I will try and contribute my knowledge (or what remains of it in my one remaining brain-cell (I am now 70 years young - and have been sitting on a piano stool since I was three - Hence the Piles - of money, of course !!!....NOT !!!!))
Kind regards to all,
Tony
