While looking for video clips of The Fortunes on You Tube, I came across a clip of a band called "The Trolls" who, it says in the remarks section have reformed for a reunion gig. I've never heard of them before. Does anyone know anything about this bands past exploits? The video performance is fantastic! The Trolls

Tell you what, it's great to see such a terrific live band do their thing. Great find John.
Interesting to read of their possible connections with the Fortunes. Like you, I'd like to know more about these guys.

Great stuff, John. That's an excellent live-performance. I don't recall ever hearing of these guys before but it sure sounds like the old boys can still deliver the goods! Pat, from the members' names it looks like they must be Irish... they're playing at a gig at Bettystown near Dublin. I hope someone can tell us more about them. There are a few songs from the re-union gig on videos on youTube and I found another video on AOL video.aol.com/video-detail/the-trolls-live-california-dreamin/2076791708 where they do another great cover of California Dreaming. (And yes, they're definitely Irish, listen to those accents!) Cheers, Dave.

Good man, Dave. Wherever they're from they sure are great singers and musicians. And yes, the old folks can still do it. Good on them and fair play to them too for making these wonderful videos available for us all to enjoy.

The Trolls are: Phil McLouglin - Lead Guitar & Vocals, Shaun Black - Drums & Vocals, Mo Conlon - Bass & Vocals, Niall Corrigan - Guitar & Vocals, Gerry Simpson - Keyboards and Vocals. Do any of these names ring bells with anyone Super Band, ;D ;D

And I should know them, especially as they're from Ireland, but can't place them. Shame on me

I just picked the names from the u-tube blurb, I was hoping someone would recognize them. They are a great band, but I come across great bands and musicians nearly every week, and they seldom if ever get the recognition they deserve Sad really

I know what you mean Larry. Only last week I was gigging in Kilkenny and popped into a pub down the road from where my gigs was ( I had arrived earlier than usual) and there were a couple of lads (40ish) who were doing some amazing stuff, terrific harmonies and everything.
We sure have some great talent on this island, as of course they do in every country.
